Networking & IT Security Specialist

FIMBank is an international trade finance bank with an international network of offices spanning five continents.  The Bank is headquartered in Malta, is listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority.  We are seeking to recruit a Networking & IT Security Specialist who will form part of a proactive team responsible for safeguarding the information assets of the FIMBank Group and will contribute to on-going efforts to maintain adequate security posture of Group information, operations, processes and IT systems.  You will be expected to blend a strong understanding of technology together with an effective risk-based approach to security.

In this role, you will form part of the team responsible for the global technology infrastructure of the FIMBank Group. 

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting the team in the delivery, administration, operations and troubleshooting of Group enterprise network devices and security infrastructure;

  • Providing a point of escalation for first line of support;

  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation; and

  • Supporting the team in specific projects.


The ideal candidate should therefore have expertise in most of the following areas:

  • IP and Internet technologies;

  • Wired and wireless data networks;

  • Telecoms and connectivity;

  • Network management and performance monitoring technologies;

  • Application security and Authentication platforms;

  • Endpoint, network and mobile security systems;

  • Information leakage protection and control; and

  • Software-defined security and networking in virtualised environments.

A strong general understanding of complex IT infrastructures together with well-evolved analytical skills are essential. Knowledge of unified communications systems and of cloud security and access is highly desirable.

This role calls for a number of years’ experience working at a similar level in demanding, mission-critical IT environments and an engineering or IT-related degree or equivalent. Relevant vendor certifications in networking and security technologies will be considered as assets.
