Draughtsman / Surveyor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Draughtsman/ Surveyor looking to join our Real Estate Finance unit. The selected candidate must have a strong client oriented approach. This position is responsible for providing the Real Estate Finance Department with technical advice through extensive daily support and interaction with appointed architects, engineers and construction specialists. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of site surveying services on a variety of different construction projects and will play a key role in ensuring that all project records are updated periodically. This will involve acquiring a working knowledge of the day-to-day processes to effectively respond to inquiries including the principal duties as described hereunder.

Principal Duties:

  • Basic surveying skills and the ability to accurately document findings during planned and random site visits to construction sites/projects financed by the Bank;

  • Document site visit findings and prepare a comprehensive and detailed site visit report. In the event that findings are adverse or not in line with the schedule of works adhere to the Bank’s escalation processes;

  • Review plan, construction drawings and planning applications and acting as providing a point of reference for any enquiries relating to the Technical Office;

  • Act as a liaison between the client and the panel of Bank architectural firms. Provide the necessary information required for the selected architect to be able to perform their valuation exercise/study;

  • Preparation of Project Technical Assessment and Processing of disbursements as per project schedule of costs (bills of quantities);

  • Support the Front and Middle Office in the preparation of Credit Applications for approval and ongoing facility monitoring based on activities taking place on site; and

  • Ensuring compliance with the Bank’s management policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years work experience, previous experience in construction/real estate will be considered an asset; 

  • Proficient ACAD software user with excellent organizational skills and be conversant with mainstream banking applications and Microsoft Office suite;

  • Familiar with the local building regulations and Planning Authority processes and up to date relevant knowledge of building and Health and Safety legislation;

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, clients and other related professional or industry bodies; and

  • Clean driving license.


  • Ideally, in posession of an MCAST-BTEC Extended Diploma and/or HND in the Construction and the Built Environment (Building Services Engineering) / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
