Group Head of Treasury & Capital Markets

FIMBank is an international trade finance bank with an international network of offices spanning five continents.  The Bank is headquartered in Malta, is listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority. 

We are seeking to recruit a Group Head of Treasury & Capital Markets who will be responsible for the daily support operations of the Treasury team.  Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, the Group Head of Treasury & Capital Markets will be responsible for:  

Key responsibilities:

  • FX: trading on behalf of clients and proprietary hedging for risk management purposes.
  • Capital markets: research, trading and monitoring of HQLA and non-HQLA portfolio.
  • ALM: execution and monitoring of treasury-related ALM products including nostro accounts and wholesale funding as well as liquidity management.
  • Middle office: to act as liaison between FO and BO, ensure compliance with key Treasury rules and regulations and act as a coordinating unit for Group treasury functions.  

Main duties:

  • To establish Treasury as the bank's window to financial and capital markets.
  • Supervise trading positions.
  • Formulate and oversee Treasury strategy, budgets and plans.
  • Establish Treasury as a robust and effective Group function. 
  • Ensure adherence to Group Treasury Policy, including trading limits and hedging of FX and interest rates.
  • Supervise treasury marketing, sales, and product development.
  • Core contributor to Asset & Liability Management (ALM) priorities and actions.
  • Approve pricing for Treasury products.
  • Contribute to and participate in ALCO meetings.
  • Support the EMM, EXCO, BoD and other corporate governance structures.
  • To serve Treasury customers via marketing and sales of capital markets products.
  • To support business units and their customers.
  • Supervise the management of liquidity, market risk, and funding for the bank.
  • Maintain a network of Treasury clients and contacts.
  • Manage Treasury personnel.
  • Maintain an adequate Treasury policy framework, reporting and monitoring tools.
